Virtual training is offered for patients located outside the area.
A capping specialist will provide guidance through an online session and remain available for questions and support during the first infusion. Continued support is provided throughout the patient's treatment journey.
During In-person training, the capping provider will meet with the patient to train their selected support person(s) on proper cold capping procedures. On the day of the first infusion, virtual support will be available to answer any questions and provide guidance as needed. Ongoing support will continue throughout the course of treatment.
The capping provider will be present with the patient on the morning of their treatment for up to four hours, offering hands-on training to the designated support person(s) on scalp prep, pre-cooling, cap rotation, and proper cap changes during infusion. Patients are responsible for arranging cap rentals, securing dry ice, packing the cooler, and bringing all required materials. Ongoing guidance and support will be available throughout the entire treatment process.
A cold capping specialist will attend each chemotherapy appointment to provide full support with cap application before, during, and after infusion ensuring up to 8 hours of continuous scalp cooling. Cold Caps are included. To enhance comfort during treatment, the specialist will also bring items such as an electric blanket, neck pillow, and other thoughtful essentials. All necessary supplies will be brought to the infusion center to ensure a seamless and supportive experience.
